What is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for study, work and migration.
The IELTS results are recognized by more than 10,000 organizations, in 140 countries around the world.
The IELTS Examination is divided into two Modules,
The IELTS Academic test is suitable for people applying for studies at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, and also for professional registration purposes.
The IELTS General test is suitable for people applying for work and Migration purposes. This test mainly focuses on basic survival skills in broad social and workplace contexts.
Each module evaluates your English proficiency level using 4 language skills,
* The Listening and Speaking exams are same for both modules, however writing and reading differs from each module.
IELTS Examinations
Examinations are done in two ways,
Listening, Reading and writing exams will be done on the same day with no breaks in between and the Speaking exam will be held on a different day in the same week.
The test time given for a module is approximately around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Exam Fee per Module: LKR 30,200. *subject to change
IELTS Results
For Paper-Based tests, results for candidates are released on the 13th day after the exam, while the Computer-Delivered test results are released within 5 days.
